01Who We Are & Eligibility
Al-Bassira Institute is an academic program organizer based in Fez, Morocco, running the Al-Bassira Summer School in Arabic Language, Darija, and MENA Cultural Studies.
Participation is open to individuals who are at least 18 years of age at the time of the program start date (24 August 2026). By submitting an application, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. Al-Bassira Institute reserves the right to cancel the enrollment of any participant who does not meet this criterion.

02Data We Collect
When you apply to the program, we collect the following personal data:
- Full name, nationality, and email address
- Passport number (for administrative and travel coordination purposes)
- Emergency contact information (family member or friend)
- Arabic level and chosen program package
- Any health conditions, allergies, or dietary restrictions you voluntarily share with us
- Languages spoken
We also collect photos and videos taken during program activities — see Section 05 for full details.
03How We Use Your Data
Your personal data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Processing your application and confirming your enrollment
- Organizing your airport transfer, accommodation, and program logistics
- Communicating program information, updates, and schedules
- Ensuring your health and safety throughout the program
- Contacting your emergency contact if required
- Processing payments and issuing receipts
- Creating social media and marketing content (subject to your consent — see Section 05)
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
04Data Retention & Security
Your data is stored securely and retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes listed above. Passport numbers are used solely for program administration and are not stored beyond the program period.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at admin@al-bassira.com.
05Photography, Video & Social Media
By participating in the Al-Bassira program, you acknowledge that photos and videos may be taken during classes, excursions, cultural activities, and group events. These may be used on Al-Bassira's social media channels (Instagram, etc.) and other communication materials for promotional purposes.
If you do not wish to appear in published content, you must notify us in writing before or at the start of the program at admin@al-bassira.com. We will make every reasonable effort to respect your preference. You may also withdraw your consent at any time after the program, and we will remove identifiable images of you from our active channels upon request.
Photos and videos will never be used in a context that is degrading, misleading, or contrary to your dignity.
06Payment Terms
A 50% deposit is required before 20 July 2026 to secure your place. The remaining balance must be paid no later than the end of your first week of arrival in Fez. Full payment in advance is also accepted.
All prices are listed in Euros (€). Payment details including IBAN will be communicated by email after your application is submitted. For payment questions, contact admin@al-bassira.com.
07Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to admin@al-bassira.com. The following conditions apply:

| Less than 24 hours before the program start date | No refund |
Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 business days to the original payment method. Al-Bassira Institute is not responsible for any bank transfer fees incurred during the refund process.
Al-Bassira Institute reserves the right to cancel the program in exceptional circumstances (force majeure, natural disasters, etc.). In such cases, participants will be notified as early as possible and a full refund will be issued.
08Program Participation & Attendance
Attendance is mandatory for all academic sessions. Absences are only excused in cases of illness. By accepting these terms, you commit to:
- Completing the full four-week program
- Respecting the daily schedule (Monday–Friday academic sessions)
- Participating in organized group activities
- Behaving respectfully toward fellow participants, staff, and the local community
09Health & Insurance
Participants are required to have valid health insurance covering their entire stay in Morocco before arrival. Al-Bassira Institute is not responsible for medical costs incurred during the program. Any health conditions or allergies must be disclosed before arrival so appropriate support can be arranged.
10Liability
Al-Bassira Institute is not liable for loss, theft, injury, or damage to personal belongings during the program. Weekend excursions are optional activities — participants join at their own risk. The institute reserves the right to modify the program schedule due to unforeseen circumstances.
11Governing Law
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Fez, Morocco.
